Florida amusement park will take down trip after youngster’s deadly fall, operator says

A Florida drop tower amusement park trip from which a 14-year-old boy fell to his dying in March shall be taken down, the trip’s operator stated Thursday.

The verdict to take down the 430-foot-tall Orlando FreeFall tower and trip at ICON Park out of doors Orlando used to be made as a result of Tyre Sampson’s March 24 dying, the operator stated in a web-based remark.

The trip, which had opened best months prior to Tyre’s dying, has been closed since. No timeline for taking down the trip has been made up our minds, the remark reads.

“We’re devastated by means of Tyre’s dying. Now we have listened to the desires of Tyre’s circle of relatives and the group, and feature made the verdict to take down the FreeFall,” Ritchie Armstrong, an professional with trip operator Orlando Slingshot, stated within the remark. “As well as, Orlando Slingshot will honor Tyre and his legacy in the school room and at the soccer box by means of making a scholarship in his title.”
